So why do people throw these fish back? Why are they labled a nuisance fish? How did that ever happen? Why on earth do they call something so delicious, "garbage?" The answer, in our opinion, is two fold.

One, they are not as easily cleaned as our preferred game fish. Don't despair, however, it can be done and it's really not that hard.

Two, there's so damn many of 'em that when you are targeting fluke or other species, its really hard not to catch them. And why is there so darn many of 'em? Because most people throw them back. Why are there stringent regulations placed on striped bass, summer and winter flounder, tog, weakfish, etc. ? Because most people don't throw them back. And look at it this way: the day they place limits on sea robin is the day you are catching a hell of a lot more fluke.
